Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for a cost control professional with strong project controls expertise to play a key role in delivering accurate financial performance reporting across a complex project environment.
The successful candidate will take ownership of cost control for an allocated package of work and act as a key interface between the project team, client stakeholders, and internal management.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and timely cost reports in line with contractual and client requirements.
- Manage all aspects of cost control for an allocated work package, including budgets, commitments, Value of Work Done (VOWD), accrual generation, and forecasting for labour, subcontract, and procurement costs.
- Communicate cost data and financial performance to both client and Worley stakeholders.
- Provide input into and review Project Controls procedures such as invoicing procedures, budget and cost control procedures, accounting and invoicing procedures, and change order procedures, ensuring full compliance with contractual requirements.
- Prepare monthly internal cost reports and finance statements for Worley Management.
- Present and explain month-end financial results to both client and management teams.
- Lead all cost-related activities during project close-out and benchmarking.
- Promote effective collaboration within Project Controls teams, wider project departments, and client representatives.
- Demonstrate commitment to and promote company and project values relating to health and safety, environmental and quality standards, ethics, systems, policies, and procedures.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proven industry experience in cost control within a project environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost control and reporting techniques and methodologies.
- In-depth understanding of contract terms and conditions relating to costs, payments, penalties, insurances, guarantees, and physical progress measurement systems.
- Experience managing VOWD, accruals, commitments, and forecasting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data to senior stakeholders and clients.
- The desire, attitude, and aptitude to progress into a supporting Project Controls Manager role.
